We met before the semester began and instantly connected. Sharing each other’s passion for laughter and living life in the moment, we became good friends and study partners shortly afterwards. Not only did we play together but we also supported each other through the most challenging obstacle ahead which was graduating dental school. We were inseparable as friends and later discovered that our hearts were also inseparable. One cold evening, while slow dancing to romantic tunes at a crowded party, the stars aligned just as Kema kissed Alicia in the middle of the dance floor stopping time for a few seconds and sending chills down Alicia’s spine. It was clear that our relationship would never be the same again. Kema sealed the deal by inviting Alicia to dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill (a popular restaurant in DC that neighbors the White House) this would be the first official date and Old Ebbitt our favorite restaurant. From that moment forward they became known as a "power couple" by their peers.

After completing a sentence of four years to life at Howard Dental School. Kema, after purchasing the most beautiful and unique engagement ring secretly convinced Alicia to plan a celebratory vacation. We decided on a week long vacation at the Memories resort in Freeport, Bahamas. Little did Alicia know but her left ring finger would never look the same again. We had an amazing time swimming, relaxing, biking, shopping and enjoying bahamian cuisine but most of all we enjoyed the warmth of the people. On the last night in paradise, Kema invited Alicia to join him in the pool for an evening dip. In the pool they shared the scenic view of the sunset over the ocean. Although it was not Kema's original plan, drunk with love and seduced by Alicia’s beauty in her leopard print bathing suit Kema began to tremble and told Alicia how much he loved her and got down on one knee in the pool almost drowning. Alicia responded "we are in the pool" and ultimately "yes" to many years together and the beginning of “The Egolum Empire”.
